Lose the salt in your food because sodium contributes to water retention, making you look and feel swollen. Keep on a check on your salt consumption, experts say the intake should not be more than one tablespoon that is 2,400 milligrams a day.

Don’t even think of blowing off your breakfast. The science states that the body’s metabolism slows as you sleep and process of digesting food revs it up again. Have 300-400 calorie breakfast such as high fiber cereals, milk and fruits. Don’t make your dinner with the heaviest meal because of the same metabolism game.

Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! – Sleep deprivation can make you fat. Snooze for a complete eight hours and that too at night. Lesser the sleeping hours, slower is the metabolism and vice- versa.

Add 20 minutes of exercise per day. Take stairs instead of elevators, take bus or train for your office instead of your private vehicles (releasing out sweat is also important), walk with your friend in garden, mall or anywhere instead of sitting in a café, take care our housecleaning things by yourself, jog for few minutes will also work. Twenty minutes of moderate exercise helps in burning 700 Calories in a day.

Last but not the least try avoiding junk food, high protein food items, alcohol and sweet dishes. You can add species in your food like peppers, jalapenos, capsaicin, etc. as it speeds up the body metabolism by releasing more adrenaline.
